1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the ASI Trust Reviews Shopify application, storefront review widgets and forms, review-request emails, review import tools, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). It describes information we process on behalf of Shopify merchants and information provided by merchants and their customers.
Merchants remain responsible for their own store privacy notices and legal obligations. We process store and customer information to provide the Service according to each merchant's instructions.
2. Information we collect
Merchant and store information
- Store identity, domain, contact details, locale, plan, and app configuration.
- Account, support, billing status, and service communications.
Shopify store data
- Products, variants, collections, orders, fulfillment status, and customer contact details needed to operate requested features.
- App installation status and permissions granted through Shopify.
Review and storefront information
- Ratings, review text, photos or videos, reviewer name, email, product association, replies, moderation status, and verification signals.
- Review-import source data, email campaign settings, coupons, and reward preferences.
Technical information
We may receive IP address, browser and device information, timestamps, diagnostic logs, and usage events required to secure, maintain, and improve the Service.
3. How we use information
- Provide, personalize, maintain, and troubleshoot the Service.
- Import, collect, moderate, display, analyze, and respond to reviews.
- Send review requests and reward messages configured by the merchant.
- Protect the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
- Provide support and communicate important product or policy updates.
We do not sell personal information or use merchant customer data for independent advertising.
5. Retention and deletion
We keep information only for as long as needed to provide the Service, satisfy legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention varies by data type, store configuration, and applicable law.
When an app is uninstalled or a valid deletion request is received, we delete or anonymize covered information within a reasonable period, except where retention is legally required. We process Shopify's mandatory customer data, shop data, and customer redact requests through the applicable privacy webhooks.
6. Privacy rights
Depending on location, individuals may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information, or receive a portable copy. Customers should normally contact the merchant whose store collected their information. We support merchants in responding to verified requests.
Requests may be sent to privacy@asitrustreview.com. We may request information necessary to verify identity and authority.
7. Security and international transfers
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls, transport encryption, monitoring, and restricted production access. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Our providers may process information outside the country where it was collected. Where required, we use recognized contractual and legal safeguards for international transfers.
8. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for merchants and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Merchants are responsible for ensuring their review collection practices comply with age-related requirements.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the Service, our practices, or applicable law. We will post the revised policy here and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or by email.
